i just can’t seem to be able to sit down and type the story of my near death experience with ITP, BCE, and CMV. but since we talked quite a bit about it on our podcast back on episode #888, i figured i might as well leave a copy of it here.

if you’re going to subscribe to something of mine, it may as well be to my actual blog. i’m more likely to update that. i was trying to see if posterous could help me streamline anything, but i already have a perfect match populating flickr/twitter/facebook with one email address and a tricky subject line, so adding this site to the mix just sends traffic to the wrong place for me. i’m starting to blog more often (or so i tell myself) over at http://drewdomkus.com and all my photos go to http://flickrazzi.com. that’s where you’ll find me. or over at http://twitter.com/drewdomkus or http://facebook.com/drewdomkus.

oh yeah, there’s the podcast too
http://dawnanddrew.com

jeez, see what i mean?
too many digital places to be at once…

(this was actually auto posted from posterous, forgot that setting was there. anyway, i’m planning on writing about my near death experience, so look for that soon)

dreadlock update

dreadlock update

on may 2, 2008, i got my third set of dreadlocks started. the first two sets started as braids that i let grow out and at the base of each braid was where the dreadlocks started. this set i did differently. i went to a salon that specialized in making dreads and they twisted real hair extensions into my hair over a 9 hour process. the idea is that the additional hair helps the matting process and new growth would be matted. some of the extensions slipped out about 6 months in but a lot of them are still there and pretty much matted into the mix. i’m trying to dread the loose ends with backcombing and wax, but i may just trim them off at some point. so i’m 16 months in and pretty satisfied with the growth, especially in the back.

sunny day

sunny day self portrait

it’s been a long time since i updated a blog that’s not tied to a podcast, but i’m working out this new install of wordpress and plan to update much more often.

i’ll be updating my about page shortly to function as a bit of a resume as well so that i can hopefully drum up some more freelance work. need a website, or some podcast consulting? get in touch.
