i see that my last real update was around yule. still in 2009. sorry about that but life happens. let me try and get things back up to speed with full intentions of writing here more often, yada yada.

new years was amazing, probably my favorite so far. on the beach, fireworks, some rain, good company, dancing, losing paul, looking for paul, good times.

we had many more visitors stay with us for the B&B experience, sorry to gloss over the details there, but believe me when i say we had great times. multiple people told me it was the time of their life. even sean and ellen got engaged down here on a very beautiful cliff edge in manzanillo overlooking the ocean and the reef below.

our new bikes got stolen. spec got real sick and had to get a tooth pulled, and the vet with gas for that procedure is in escazu, 5 hours away. he got better, but has a hole in cheek and looks like a zombie dog. paul decided to go back to wisconsin early, dawn and i stayed the course and continued to fall in love with the caribbean.

when our 3 months was over, i stayed back with the dogs and dawn made a trip back to the states to start getting things in order to make our lives in costa rica as permanent as possible. being alone with our dogs for an entire month was an interesting experience. we started renting a different house that happened to be next door to the house that we had been in, so the move was pretty painless, but at this point we’ve definitely begun to acquire things.

i ended up taking a trip back to the farm 2 weeks ago. i was going to be back for a month, but poor spec had a heart attack, and we decided it was better for me to be back with the family right now, and so i just got back the other day. i’m glad to report that spec is doing much better! dawn leaves in a week to tour around with rasputina as their tour manager, plus she’ll be selling our upcoming documentary! it’s called Under the Corset, and i think every rasputina fan will absolutely love it and want a copy.

somehow we managed to buy a ford bronco and a vw bus, plus we have a scooter that was given to us for a debt owed. totally crazy how much stuff we have here now, and i’ve come to realize how much of a drag it is to own a vehicle in the jungle. we need to sell the bronco, and i’m considering selling the bus as well. i love it, but this is not the right place for it. a quad is the way to go, or simply a bicycle.

so i’m back in costa rica now, with a ticket to return to the states in september. let’s see if i use it.
